Your notes and drafts. What you type (your stories, details about the people involved, and any writing sample) and the drafts we write are kept so you can view, redraft, edit and download them. They are deleted automatically 14 days after the date of the wedding or service you give us, or 30 days after you start if you don't give a date, and never later than 180 days. You can delete a draft sooner, or all of them from your account page.
Sensitive details. Notes for a eulogy or obituary may include details about someone who has died, their family and their health. Please share only what's needed for the piece. We use these details only to write your draft.
Processors. Your notes are sent to our AI provider (xAI) to write and check the draft, under its API terms. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card. If you sign in by email, we store your email address to send sign-in links and receipts.
Emails. We send email through our email provider, Resend, and replies go to support@paperchore.com. You get sign-in links and purchase receipts because you asked for them. About 10 days after buying a wedding speech we may send one short email asking how it went, once per address, only for real payments, and never after a eulogy or obituary. Newsletters go only to people who confirm a sign-up. Every follow-up or newsletter email has an unsubscribe link.
Cookies and analytics. We set an account cookie that keeps your drafts linked to this device, and a first-party "src" cookie that remembers which link you came from for 30 days. Analytics are aggregate daily page counts with no IP addresses or tracking cookies. To limit abuse we briefly hold IP addresses in memory for rate limiting; they are not stored.
Ads. If you arrive from a Google ad, we keep the ad's click ID in a first-party cookie for 90 days so we can count whether our ads lead to purchases. When Google Ads conversion tracking is switched on, our pages also load Google's tag (gtag.js), which may set Google cookies, and the page you return to after checkout tells Google Ads that a purchase happened and its price. We never send Google your notes, drafts, name or email. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
What we don't do. We don't sell your data, use your stories for advertising or to train models, publish anything for you, or put the contents of your notes or drafts in our logs.
